Commercial Cooking

OHS has Commercial Cooking 10/20/30 courses as well as supports our Middle Years PAA programs.

Whether it's grilled cheese challenges, ginger bread competitions, recipes from the past, or sharing cultural treasures, our Commercial Cooking lab, under the enthusiastic leadership of Mrs. Duchesne, is ready to provide instruction and hands-on learning about kitchen basics to culinary masterpieces!

OHS Trades Centre--Welding

OHS offers Welding 10/20/30

Our OHS Trades Centre supports 10 individual welding booths for students' learning and fine-tuning their welding skills.  Under the careful instruction of Mr. Theoret and Mr. Holmes, our students learn how to stick, mig, and tig weld in addition to oxy-acetlyne and plasma cutting to fabricate many projects.

Hair & Esthetics

Our PAA Lab also offers complete Hair and Esthetics 10, 20, 30 classes for our senior students.

Hair and Esthetics is a hands-on course that allows students to learn practical and theory behind hair maintenance and styling, skin care, and nail care.  The semester often culminates in guests being invited to benefit from the knowledge gained by these enthusiastic students in a Spa Experience.

Carpentry & Construction

While woodworking is part of the middle years PAA courses, OHS boasts pure Carpentry & Construction 10, 20, 30 as well.

Our Carpentry and Construction shop boasts all the latest in woodworking, both by machine and hand. Mr. Tulp guides our students in CC 10, 20, 30 to learn about the basics, safety, codes, and then it's hands-on learning making everything including individual projects, community commissions, and passion projects.

Independent Education Program

Meeting students' individual needs

OHS provides the unique opportunity for students to recieve their schooling through our thriving Independent Education Program.  If the main campus isn't the right fit for some students, the IndEP campus, housed in our PAA Building, provides individualized programming to support students in achieving their academic goals.  Mr. Drury works one-on-one or in small groups with kids to teach and facilitate their learning in an inclusive, welcoming environment!
